Almost 2 Year Old Cake

So somehow we FORGOT to eat our wedding cake on our 6th month or first anniversary.  Oops.  But we've kept in in our freezer waiting for the next marker so we could give it a taste.  Well.... I think the momentous time came when we ran out of freezer room!!!  Hah.  Luckily we also had our 2 year engagement mark that next day so we let it defrost and then sliced it up.  We're almost at 2 years - wow! 

In case you were curious how a almost 2 year old cake tastes after being frozen (not in a container even except a box of cardboard and thick frosting covering it).... it's not so hot.  But, it wasn't too bad, the red velvet was moist and spongy still, but the frosting not great.  Just knowing it was so old we ate a bit, took pictures for posterity and then sent it for a ride in the trash can outside.

We haven't gotten sick yet so if you're wondering how long wedding cake lasts, we can say alomst 2 years at least!!! he he he he
