Tyson: 5 months

Can't believe Tyson is already 5 months old as of 1/9/14!  He's growing up so fast, and still oh so fun.  Here's what he's been up to this past month:

• Tyson is now biting or sucking on his bottom lip
• And talking when his lip is being sucked on making new sounds
• He's been much more interested in his head, ears, feet and grabbing his pants and showing a little leg too
• First roadtrip! 12 hours to AZ and back
• And has visited his 2nd state (Arizona)
• And met Everts relatives and Burns relatives
• When semi-reclined he can pull himself up almost, but can't hold himself there
• We haven't done as much tummy time, but he's fine if he's not hungry or tired - if he is then he really doesn't want to be on the floor
• Everything is still ending up in Tyson's mouth if he can grab it
• Loving my hair - grabbing and pulling
• Tyson is way into touching my neck, chin, shirt while eating - and while sometimes it's soft and sweet, usually he's grabbing and digging his nails in - ouch!
• Had his first prune juice and soon after roadtrip blowout
• When reading books Tyson is getting good at holding the sides of the books
• Getting interested in food - not necessarily eating it yet, but just watching us eat it and loves noisy food like chips
• Baby's First Christmas: Tyson can kind of pull off the wrapping paper and then it ends up in his mouth as that was what he liked best.  He is enjoying all his new toys, he has a bunch of little things to put in his mouth mostly or lay down in.
• 12/31/13 Tyson rolled over!  And hasn't done it since.  He did do it 4 times on 12/31 and once on 1/1 and we got it on camera - but it seems like it scared him and he hasn't ventured it again yet.
• Started using a highchair in the kitchen and loving it
• Wearing 3 or 3-6 month clothes, size 1 diapers are really getting tight
• Probably 14 pounds?

Baby's First Christmas!

Maybe Christmas doesn't come from a store.

Maybe Christmas ... means a little bit more.

This year it definitely meant more for us.  The best gift was to have our cute little boy with us.  We really didn't need anything else.  He brings all the joy.

We got each other a few things, and Tyson some toys too, but the best part was just spending time together and having this 3 week break from David's school.  Even all three of us being sick with colds, it was still a great day.

Tyson loved the wrapping paper!  And I mean, after he was pretty good at getting the present unwrapped - we waited to see him check out the gift - but nope, he was still into the wrapping paper - eating it!  Yum. mmy.  Hah.

We had fun spending time with the Clark's on the official day, while we did a few other Christmas celebrations in AZ with my family's too.  And Christmas Eve we were at Jan's for soup and chatting after the annual bowling that we didn't attend.

It was a great day.  I love that I feel that we have everything we would want and don't need much to enjoy the holidays.

Happy 28th David!

My hubby is 28, can't believe it!  He makes me young ;)  We celebrated on 12/22 at the Clark home and then with our small family on 12/23.  For part of his birthday I gave him a few favorite meals he could request and then also a night out for sushi since he didn't get that while I was pregnant.  He also got some movies and stuff below.

Just have to say, I can't live without this guy.  He makes every minute worth it.  It has been so fun having him home for the 3 week break.  I got my silly D back, and Tyson is loving it too.  David, you are my bestest friend and I am so glad to have you.  Thanks for adding so much happiness to my life.  Glad you were born and that we get to celebrate you at least once a year :)

We also had our first night out without Tyson (he was home asleep with his favorite Shayla - thanks girl!)  David picked the movie The Hobbit.  Fun to get out together :)

Sorry for the mushy post, but just had to do it.  Thanks for marrying me baby, you are my #1 and only forever.  Although Tyson is a close #2.  Thanks for laboring through school right now, putting up with my craziness and fun and sometimes not so fun self.  Thanks for the many compliments you give me.  Thanks for the bum slaps, picking me up when I'm tired or just want to jump in your arms, and all the many hand holds, feet rubs, back rubs, meals cooked, laundry cleaned... I could go on and on.  You do so much for me daily and I'm a lucky girl to have you.
