First PIE!!

I made my first homemade pie over Thanksgiving weekend!  My mom & I tried it together.  We were always Marie Calendar's fans...  We packed mom's visit so full but still wanted to try a pie so we made the crust between stops at the house, and then that night at 10:30 we started cutting the apples (thanks Mom) and I rolled out the crust.  The pie was ready around 1 am and we didn't try it till the next morning.  And it was GOOD!!!  I haven't had too many pies, but to me, it was great!  Yummm.

We did a lot of other activities with my mom too....

• Black Friday shopping - this is a story in itself, I'm just sad that they moved the time to the late night rather than early morning.  We went to Walmart and Target and there were so many more people out and up.  The Target line wound around the side of it's store outside several times.  And then once inside it took over an hour to check out through the checkout line.  And then the next week, the DVD player we bought for such a steal, it was the same price!!?!?!  All that waiting and no reason except to hang out with the crowds.  We may not do it next year if it's at the early time again.
• Sleeping in the next day
• Meeting up with cousins that came up from Provo, Courtney & family
• More shopping
• Looking for Christmas gifts together
• And going to the temple for family names

All this in only a couple days!  It was a great time together.  We don't have a full guest room all set up but we did have a room and a nice air mattress that she enjoyed.

The weekend was so packed, it went by pretty quick.  Mom, we loved having you with us for a few days!  Come back soon....
