Bear Lake Part 1

This summer we got to take advantage of the Speirs condo and headed to Bear Lake Aug 9 - 12.  YAY!!!  Vacation!!!  Time away and no school or work :) :) :)

Sunday night:
We arrived, had dinner, unpacked and put Tyson to bed.  And the whole - going to bed thing - was the nightmare of the vacation!  It took maybe 1-2 hours to get him to sleep.  New place, and already he was doing his hate sleep thing - we were in for it.  We had to keep his door open too all the time so really we were trapped in the other bedroom each night trying not to make noises once he did finally go to sleep.  I think the first night David ended up laying with him till he was out.

Monday:
Woke up early about every day, thanks to the little guy ;)  But that meant at least we could fit a lot in the day.  We were the first group at the little beach area we drove to and had a good 1-2 hours without really anyone around, remembering it was like 9:30am when we got there!  Tyson LOVED the water and sand and the cups we brought to play there.  He was in his own world.  I was excited to take pictures with a gorgeous background.  David taught Tyson to also throw rocks and make big splashes.  Very fun.  Before the sun got to us too much we headed to get lunch - burgers, fries, shake, etc.  Yum.  After the small nap where we were silent hoping Tyson would eventually sleep from all our negotiations... we got out the bikes and went around the area all the way to the KOA to get snow cones.  Tyson was so cute in his helmet.  After going home we still had time to drive out to a park and just chill, oh wait, Tyson was not wanting to just sit on a blanket so I did that while David flew the kite around with him, adorable.  Dinner at home, enchiladas.  Getting Tyson to sleep was somewhat easier, but we were confined to our room so we didn't stir him - movie night every night :)

Tuesday:
It was somewhat of a repeat from yesterday in that we got to the beach, found even a better spot to set up and brought an umbrella too, and spent 1-2 hours again in the morning there, but we had some other families there but no big deal.  We had a cool thing happen where a dad and 2 girls stopped at the beach from their Sea-Doos to play on the beach and the dad asked if the 3 of us would want to take the Sea-Doos out for a few minutes with Tyson, and he had a vest for us all etc.  He wasn't some creep, hah, but a nice older dad type that said he was headed to a family reunion but had time to kill and might as well let someone use them.  So, I said yes! And grabbed David and we went.  Tyson had a blast, me too, we all sat on one and David drove, and only did it for a few minutes but it was great.   That man may not know but, wow, what a cool blessing for us and me especially because I wanted to rent on of those but in the end we decided it was too expensive and hard to figure out where to get etc.  And then low and behold we were just offered to ride one.  The guy did say he had someone help him that morning and he wanted to pay it forward, wow, cool story to remember. Anyway, we went home, did some four wheeling before it was supposed to rain (which it didn't), then we had lunch and nap, watched a movie and went out to get Dole Whip for a snack.  We walked around the small town and checked out the shops and then just walked a bit more while we waited to get hungry for dinner.  We went to a pizza shop there that sounded cool with the wood oven, it was good, nothing to write home about but a nice change.  Movie night again after the kiddo was down.
