August 26, 2012 - DAY 1
We drove to California following close behind our fellow Clark family. We skipped church, oops don't tell, and left before noon and really only stopped for gas. I like roadtrips with D because we get to chat and chat and then sing a little and chat some more...
A driving day really isn't too eventful, but below are some pictures. It was REALLY hot when we were in St. George and I knew we were in for a hot week, oh no poor me! Also in Vegas we hit rush hour traffic, Sunday evening crowds heading back to Cali after their long gambling weekend. So, we weren't able to make wonderful time, but no rush. We arrived to our hotel safely and just enough time for some of us to bust out enchiladas and snack before crashing in bed.
We stayed in a suite, very fun having 2 families all together. And we had a kitchenette and shared all our food/snacks and I felt we were VERY prepared food and travel wise. Jon & Annie two weeks before had a job offer in Texas, so this trip meant that after we wouldn't see eachother for awhile. And we SEE them a lot in Utah, we are allies, so that will be sad. But since they were busy packing and such, I was incharge of the food and snacks. We ended up having way too much, but hey, that's what trips are for right? We ate lots of tacos/taco salad and saved money having free breakfast and kitchenette for dinner.... I'm getting ahead of myself, this is only supposed to be DAY 1. I'll stop :)
