I'm the Temple Prep teacher in my church/ward. Meaning, I have the privilege of teaching anyone preparing to attend the temple for the first time, and what a lucky calling.
---
At first, teaching every Sunday was hard and nerve racking. But after watching my first group (family of three) be sealed together in the SLC temple in April, I felt the true joy of watching them so happy. Their daughter is 2 weeks younger than Tyson and they came back to the church after she was born, and after attending temple prep for a few months - our families became instant friends. I would almost say that we moved here just to meet them, or I'd hope so. They are the sweetest family.
---
I've been able to teach 2 young women as well - one preparing for a mission and the other engaged to be married. The one going on a mission I just saw my younger self in her eyes and we also hit it off.
---
Sometimes callings are for others and sometimes for those who hold them to learn, grow and meet people who touch your own life.
---
I feel a special love for temples, maybe from my mission serving so close to one, or just always having the desire to go someday from my youth, but however I got it - I can't even describe to the class why or how I love it so much always. I just do - a special place where I feel loved and remember why we are really here - to someday make it back to be with God.
---
Below are a few times that I've attended this year. We set a goal and have been going monthly this year (being pregnant, having a new baby, and nursing really threw me off my grove of us going regularly) - not always as ACDC but with our new friends Kaydee and John - so the girls go and then the boys another day. It has been a blessing to have them as "churchy" friends I guess, but at the same time just a neighbors and friends as well.
