October Activities

Conference --- Sat/Sun Oct 4-5, 2014

To kick off October we had 2 days of conference or talks from the leaders of our church.  It was nice to hang out at home and have some spiritual uplift.  This was Tyson's 3rd time attending and this time he had his magnadoodle so he was good to sit and copy Daddy ;)

Getting Pumpkins --- Sat Oct 18, 2014

I was looking forward to going to the patch even before September, not sure why except to show Tyson and have him enjoy this fall season with us like we do.  I may have hoped for too much haha because Tyson wasn't too happy to be there!  He was fine at first but either he was hungry or just too many people all over but he was pretty whiney and just done.  He did love picking up the small pumpkins and carrying them around.  It was actually very hot and sunny which was a nice change but a little too hot!  It was the first family get together after G. Clark passed so there were some tender feelings but otherwise, fun to be with the Clark family.  David picked out the biggest pumpkin, of course, and after some sandwiches at the Clarks we headed home.

Decorations

We decorated before October, I think.  Lights outside, a few things inside as usual. Tyson helped us decorate and he loved getting into the tubs and exploring what we had in there.  Lots of buckets, ghosts, spiders, lights, and skeletons.

Teaching Tyson

This was one holiday we couldn't pass up teaching Tyson about!  We had just started some other teaching schedules with him in September, but took a break for a couple weeks to practice what a ghost says and what spiders do, etc.  He loved it.  He already loved Bones, our skeleton that hung out with us all year, but now Bones was all decked out at our kitchen table and how fun!  Tyson is really good at telling us what a Ghost says and then knows the names for spiders and witches and such...  Cute boy.

We also taught him with some halloween Jello jigglers!!

Gardner Village --- Thurs Oct 9, 2014

Thursday morning David had a class that cancelled so we planned to head to Gardner Village a local goes-all-out outdoor shop area here.  You can pose with witches and such, Tyson was skeptical at first but was running around by himself after not too long.

Hot dogs @ Clarks  BBQ --- Fri Oct 10, 2014

We did some hot dog and marshmallow toasting one Friday night at Clark's backyard.  Tyson loved being outside and running/rolling through the grass with daddy and his aunts/uncle.  Definitely more complex to feed a 1 yr old not with our normal routine or highchair but D did good multitasking, better than me of course.  We also were able to see G. Clark and say our last goodbyes.

Playground Time --- Oct 16, 2014

Not much to say except we had a free afternoon while the CR-V was getting registered and Daddy came too!  Tyson loved it all so much.

Carving Pumpkins ---- Oct 27, 2014

After our pumpkins sat outside for a week, we brought them in to carve them!  D and I weren't that good at brainstorming our ideas early but we finally figured out our faces.  Tyson just admired our work and helped blow the candles out ;)
